Measurement and Quality Improvement
Client IQ is a measurement tool which can be applied to virtually any industry. It has proven to be very effective in the medical field, whether it is a simple PCP clinic, or a major Trauma 1 Level hospital, and everything in-between. The success of Client IQ is largely attributable to the critical role it plays in the core of any quality improvement process.
All quality improvement processes, as illustrated below, contain these fundamental stages. Whether you’re undertaking LEAN, Six Sigma, or TQM, all of these stages have to be adhered to in one form or another.

In our experience we find that medical facilities are very good at the goal setting, strategy setting, and execution stages. However, the quality feedback loop breaks down because the systems currently employed to measure results and performance falls down in two critical areas:
- Low Response Rates – measurement methods which poll patient feedback after they leave your facility will always result in low response rates. A low response rate leads to higher standard errors and inaccuracy. Because Client IQ is a very quick touch screen survey which patients take as they are being discharged, the response rates are significantly higher, so the performance measurement is far more accurate.
- Large Time-Lags – To improve quality it’s critical that collected data is reported as soon as events occur. The mechanics of surveys which are administered after a patient leaves your facility create long time-lags from when an event has occurred to when you are notified about it, sometimes as long as months. Not knowing about critical events cripples your ability to resolve the issues and also improve strategy to improve performance. Client IQ is a true real-time system which notifies you of critical events immediately.
Client IQ has proven to be a superior measurement tool in medical facilities and applications all over the country, finally affording medical professionals a solution to the growing pressure to improve patient satisfaction.
